SUDBURY - 31-year-old Sudbury woman who died in a Sept. 14 multi-vehicle collision in Port Dover is being remembered as a devoted mother of five children.

Tiffany Barrer’s obituary said she will be fondly remembered by the “love of her life,” Eric Rainville, and her five children, as well as by extended family. A celebration of life is to be held at the Colonial Inn in Coniston Sept. 27.

“Tiffany was an avid lover of the outdoors,” her obituary said.

“She loved surrounding herself with family and friends (even better if out at camp or in the garage). She spent her down time on dad’s boat, on Eric’s motorcycle, baking the best cakes, or planning their next crash derby. She was a devoted mother, and the first one to help anyone in need. The world will be at a loss without her in it.”

GoFundMe set up by her sister, Meaghan, had raised more than $23,000 of a $30,000 goal as of Sept. 23.

“As some of you already know, we lost Tiffany to a tragic accident and the love of her life is in serious condition,” said the GoFundMe.

“We aren’t ones to typically ask for this, but if anyone can give ANYTHING to help with funeral costs, transporting her back to Sudbury, to help her kids, and to help Eric out while he is recovering and unable to work we would greatly appreciate it.”

The five-vehicle collision that killed Barrer and injured her partner, Rainville, happened Sept. 14 on Highway 6 in the Port Dover area.

Three motorcycles, an SUV and a pick-up truck were involved in a collision. Barrer, the passenger on one of the motorcycles, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rainville, the operator of the same motorcycle, was transported to a trauma centre with serious injuries.

The operator of a second motorcycle was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

According to area media, including the PostMedia publication The Brantford Expositor, Brandon James Moore, 40, is facing multiple charges in the collision.

Following the collision, Moore attacked a bystander with a knife, resulting in the man being sent to hospital with serious injuries, according to media reports.

Moore has been charged with attempted murder for the attack, as well as dangerous driving causing death, among other charges.

There were initially several publication bans in place regarding this case. However, area media report that the ban protecting Barrer’s identity has now been lifted.
