Police have secured the area of Bradshaw Drive following a late-night shooting there Thursday.

STRATFORD - Shocked and scared. Those were just some of the words used by neighbours following a fatal shooting last night in Stratford.

Police were called to the area of McCarthy Road - Bradshaw Drive at 10:45 p.m., and in their statement today they said that four people were shot, two fatally, with two other people being transported to London. Injuries are described as life-threatening and life-altering in nature.

“We were getting ready for bed when we heard a loud bang sound, and roughly thirty seconds later we heard another five to six loud bangs,” said Kirampreet Kaur, a neighbour from down the street. Kaur added that police arrived within two and half minutes.

“I saw police arrest a woman who was barefoot, and wearing shorts, while another woman was taken away by an ambulance,” she said.

On Friday, police continued to canvass the neighbourhood speaking with anyone who could have been a witness. Police on scene offered no comments when asked.

One neighbour who didn’t want to be identified said, “There were lots of police and ambulances – it was really scary.”

Kaur said this kind of thing left her shaken.

“It’s scary. Nothing like this has ever happened before, it was the first time I’ve ever heard gunshots,” Kaur said “My four year old was crying."
